A Copycat Race – Idea for new game/sport explained in story form

“How about this for a game?”, said Billy to his sister Susan, one warm Summer day as they were lying on the grass, “It’s a bit like ‘Follow The Leader’ except it’s a race where the people behind have to copy whatever the person in the lead is doing”.

“That sounds very odd”, said Susan, “I’m not sure exactly what you mean”.

“Well, say it’s just me and you racing”, Billy explained, “We both start off running and I take the lead then I get to decide how we race and start hopping on one leg; because you’re behind it means that you have to hop aswell”.

“I see”, said Susan, “Well in that case, if I get in front then I’ll do cartwheels because you’re rubbish at cartwheels”.

“That’s not fair”, protested Billy.

“They’re your rules”, laughed Susan.
