1.
A butterfly leant me his wing
to wipe away my tears
and cheerful birds commenced to sing
to bring me some good cheer.
The flowers waving in the breeze
all seemed to wave hello
and even the sun smiled at me
with golden yellow glow.
Chorus:
And the day said “Good day”,
“Why are you looking down.
It’s a beautiful day;
There’s no reason to frown”.
And the morn said “Good morning”,
“Why do you look so sad?
It’s a beautiful morning.
That’s a reason to feel glad”.
2.
A ladybird, on my lapel,
pinned a bright brooch of red;
a little April raindrop fell
and kissed me on the head.
A bee flew near; buzzed in my ear
and wished me a “Good day”
so then, filled up with Springtime cheer,
I just ran out to play.
Chorus:
And the day said “Good day”,
“Why are you looking down.
It’s a beautiful day;
There’s no reason to frown”.
And the morn said “Good morning”,
“Why do you look so sad?
It’s a beautiful morning.
That’s a reason to feel glad”.
