1.
A little lady, daisy, lies
lazily gazing at the skies
as, slowly, clouds drift overhead
like hazy daydreams through her head.
2.
Like snow white boats they float on high
reflected in pale pool blue eyes;
soft pillows she can dream upon
as she drifts off to see the sun.
Clouds like countries;
like islands in the sky;
like idle childhood days
go slowly drifting by;
clouds like castles;
caravans or ice cream;
they make me wonder if
the Summer’s just the dream
of a child.
3.
Shimmering Summer memories
tattoo my heart eternally
like beating wings of butterflies
on which, in dreams, I seem to fly.
4.
To fairy tales of yesterday
each summer that has flown away
within my heart glows rainbow bright
even upon the darkest night.
Clouds like countries;
like islands in the sky;
like idle childhood days
go slowly drifting by;
clouds like castles;
caravans or ice cream;
they make me wonder if
the Summer’s just the dream
of a child.
