The Easter Bird (Easter Carol)

A bird, I heard
one Easter morn,
sing a song bright and gay.

 

"Hurrah", it sang, "The Earths reborn
on this bright Easter day".

About, it flew
and sang its tune
in gardens, fields and hills

 

to bluebells, blue
bright daisies too
and golden daffodils.

Have a Happy Easter
sang that little bird;
have a Happy Easter
and spread the Easter word.

And as each little
girl and boy
heard that bird flapping by.

 

Out of their homes they ran with joy.
"Happy Easter", they cried.
