It was so big and fat
it squashed an armchair flat.
Each time it turned around
there was a crashing sound.
it squashed an armchair flat.
Each time it turned around
there was a crashing sound.
Its grey, gigantic ears
rattled the chandeliers.
Its trunk, long as a snake,
stole canapes and cakes.
rattled the chandeliers.
Its trunk, long as a snake,
stole canapes and cakes.
With its footsteps it shook
a bookcase full of books
and with its tusks, I'm sure,
it scratched the furniture.
a bookcase full of books
and with its tusks, I'm sure,
it scratched the furniture.
But though it seemed absurd,
nobody said a word
on the elephant whom
was clearly in the room.
nobody said a word
on the elephant whom
was clearly in the room.
