The Epiphany

One day, as I was gazing
at the branches of a tree,
I had the most amazing
and profound epiphany.
In that shimmering fragment
of an instant, did I see
the body of the living universe
appear to me.
‘Of course’, I thought, ‘This
Universe is not some cold machine
but a living, breathing being
with a beating heart of green
and I, the sky, the seas,
the trees and all my eyes can see
are tiny parts of its divine and vast anatomy’.
