Once a little firefly,
falling deep in love
with a bright star in the sky
tried to fly high above.
He flew,
for love so true
up to the blue
sky above.
“Bright star
seen from afar”,
he said, “You are
my bright love”.
But, poor little firefly,
little did he know,
starry Heaven’s far too high
for fireflies to go.
Fell, he
down to the sea
that he could see
far below.
“I’ll die”,
cried that poor fly,
“Drown and goodbye
to my glow”.
But, suddenly,
from undersea,
something popped to the surface.
An amorous
anemone,
a glowing smile on her face.
“I saw you glow
from down below
and fell in love”, she said.
Then happily,
the fly and she,
‘tween sky and sea, were wed.
