The criminal peered through the bars of the jail cell at the police officer, smirking.
“Would you agree that a man locked in a prison cell like this has no chance of escaping?”, he asked, rattling the bars.
The police officer nodded.
“And that your police handcuffs are so well designed that no one but a Harry Houdini could ever get out of them”, he went on.
The police officer nodded again.
“Well then. I don’t know how you’ll ever manage to escape”, said the criminal, putting down the gun that he had been pointing at the handcuffed and gagged police officer in the cell and walking out of the jail.
---Invisible Man Puzzle ---
“I’ll escape soon!”, declared a criminal as he was being locked in a jail cell by a police officer, “You’ll see. Because I’m like the invisible man. All I have to do is take off my clothes and you won’t be able to see me anymore”.
The police officer only laughed but half an hour later, when he came back to check on the man, he discovered that he had vanished but had left behind all his clothes.
What happened to the prisoner?
There was no sign of a forced exit. No hole had been dug in either wall or ceiling and there had been no furniture in the cell apart from an old mattress and a bed fixed to the floor, both of which had been untouched.
