The game of Mermaids - A card game using a special deck for 2 players
1) Mermaids is a game for 2 or more players using a deck made up entirely of 4 types of card -
Top half of fish on one side; half of two headed dragon on the other (A dragon with a head at either end)
Bottom half of Fish on one side; half of a symmetrical spider on the other
Top half of woman on one side; Half of two headed unicorn on the other (Unicorn with head at either end)
Bottom half of woman on one side; Half of a symmetrical butterfly on the other
2) At the beginning of the game players shuffle the cards and then place the deck face down.
They then take turns drawing two cards at a time from the deck.
3) If a player draws Bottom half of Fish and Top half of woman they make a mermaid out of them.
If a player draws Top half of woman and Bottom half of woman they make a maiden out of them.
If a player draws Top half of fish and Bottom half of Fish they make a fish out of them.
If a player draws Top half of fish and Bottom half of woman they make a Seahag out of them.
If a player draws out two top halves of a woman then they turn the card over to make a two headed unicorn; similarly, if they draw out two pairs of legs then they turn them over to make a symmetrical butterfly.
If a player draws out two fish heads then they turn them over to make a two headed dragon; similarly, if they draw out two fish tails they turn them over to make a symmetrical spider

4) Winning: There are 3 ways to win in Mermaids -
a) First way to win: The first player to get combinations of these kinds - 3 mermaids; 3 maidens, 3 fishes, 3 two headed unicorns or 3 butterflies wins
b) Second way to win: The first player to get 3 seahags; three two headed dragons or 3 spiders loses and their opponent wins.
c) Third way to win: If no player gets 3 of a kind then a points system comes into play.
Mermaids are worth 8 points; Maidens are worth 7 points; two headed unicorns are worth 6 points; Fish are worth 5 points; Butterflies are worth 4 points; Seahags are worth 3 points; two headed dragons are worth 2 points and a Spider is worth 1 point
Players add up all the points of their combinations and the player with the highest number of points wins.

The Game Of X-
Each player has a bag of 50 game tokens; 25 game tokens worth five points and 25 worth ten points. They also have a pad and pen.
Each player writes down, on their pad, an ammount of his tokens that he will wager.
One player then rolls a dice with the letter 'H' on three sides, which means 'Highest ammount wins', and the letter 'L' on three sides which means 'Lowest ammount wins'.
Both players then show each other the ammount that they wrote down.
If 'Highest ammount wins' then the player who wrote down the the highest ammount wins his opponents tokens.
If 'Lowest ammount wins' then, ofcourse, the player who wrote down the lowest ammount wins his opponents tokens.
If both players put down the same ammount then no one wins or loses.
Odd wagers that are allowable in the game -
A person can wager nothing (Leave their pad blank) and IF they roll 'Lowest ammount wins' then they will win their opponents tokens without risking any of their own tokens. Do this trick too often though and the game would become unenjoyable so its more the kind of trick that should be kept in reserve and used sparingly.
Or conversely, a player could wager all they have and IF they roll 'Highest ammount wins' they will win ofcourse, if they were to lose then they would lose everything.
