Basic Premise:
Serial is a detection game in which one player plays a killer and the other a detective.
The player who plays the killer decides upon a pattern that his crimes will follow and, to win, the Detective player must solve the pattern before the last crime is committed and also by solving the pattern work out which game piece is the murderer.
Board:
The Game is played upon a board which, like Cluedo, represents a manor house.
But each of the 9 rooms in the house has a different colour, number, shape and letter -
Green Circle Room 1A; Blue Elipse room 2B; Yellow Triangle room 3C; Red square room 4D; Pink Pentagon room 5E; Orange Hexagon Room 6F ; Purple Septagon Room 7G; Black Octagon Room 8H; White Nonagon Room 9J
Pieces:
Each of the 9 pieces, the 9 guests in the house, is a different colour, has a different number printed upon it, has a base of a different shape and a name in alphabetical order -
Arthur A, Beartrice B, Colonel C, Duchess D, Edgar E, Frederick F, Gordon G, Hilary H, Inspector I, Jack J, Kimberly K and Lionel L
How to play:
At the beginning of the game the player who plays the killer secretly selects one of the pieces to be the killer piece but doesn't tell his opponent which piece it is.
The Players then take turns moving pieces from room to room around the board in any direction they choose.
Whenever the Killer player has the Killer piece in a room with a piece that, according to his pattern, is supposed to be killed, he lies that piece on its side.

Whenever the Killer player has the Killer piece in a room with a piece that, according to his pattern, is supposed to be killed, he lies that piece on its side.
Example of a pattern- A player could, althought this might be too obvious, decide to kill every piece within a room of its colour, so for example, the blue piece in the blue room, the green piece is the green room etcetera. And if the detective player works out this pattern they can predict where the 'Killer' player will strike next and/or based upon which piece has been in the room with killed pieces, work out the identity of the killer piece.
