On bright yellow, telephone like daffodils the spring is ringing;
yelling hello and from swallow filled tree hollows, Spring is singing.
April petals open like the envelopes of scented letters
telling all Spring's lovers that she’s free at last from Winter’s fetters.
Though the wind, old winters friend; goes all about the garden shushing,
grass and green leaves gossiping are whispering to blossoms blushing.
Silver April showers tap the roof tiles like typewriter keys;
sycamores do semaphore and pines sign in the Springtime breeze
and bees are buzzing by the dozen to all of their cousin bees
spreading happy tidings far and wide that Spring is free.
