Horizon - Chapter 8 - The Beetle's Quest

One night while upon his journey, Horizon stopped to rest and was sitting upon the ground when a beetle crawled over him.

“Odd little creature on your odd little quest”, he asked, “Where are you going?”.

“I am trying to cross these mountains,dear God”,answered the Beetle, referring to
Horizons knees.

“But those are not mountains”,said Horizon, amused,”Those are merely my knees”.

“Oh my god, dear god!”,exclaimed the beetle, “This mountain is alive!!”.

“Don’t be afraid”, said Horizon, “Tell me where you want to go and I will carry you there”.

“I want to reach that tree over there”,said the Beetle, “Where my wife and children live although the way is long and dangerous”.

“Well then”,said Horizon, and picking him up gently he placed the beetle at the foot of the tree.

“Oh God bless you. Talking mountain”,said
the Beetle, “May gods hand lift you up and help you upon your own journey as you have helped me!”.
