Ionocraft Ideas -

Electrohydrodynamic Thrust Craft/ Ionocraft (Ionic lifter) Ideas/ Some realistic and some science fiction (Most of these may not work but hopefully some will).

Ionocraft (and maser/laser beam) Landmine destroyer – An ionocraft drifts silently over the minefield destroying mines with a maser (or laser) beam.

Conjuring Ideas (using the present day light-weight ionocraft): The ionocraft seems the closest thing to real levitation. Why aren’t conjurers using it to to perform levitation tricks? At present, you would basically need to create a lightweight disguise for it, perhaps a smartly painted plywood box or covering it in small bright lights so that it looks like a glowing object when viewed from a distance or making it luminous or perhaps you could combine an ionocraft with an inflatable life-sized doll and create a floating man illusion. A Neurofeedback controlled Ionocraft would also make the levitation of the ionocraft seem more magical.

Ion Windmill: I have heard Electrohydrodynamic Thrust being called an Ion Wind, well perhaps one could build ion-windmills powered by that ion wind.

Ionocraft Maze Game – Can you steer the small remote controlled ionocraft through the maze without touching the walls and setting off the alarm.

Ionocraft Flying “Laser Tag” like game- Two players both control, by remote control, an ionocraft and they fly them around firing infrared beams at each others craft; a toy ionocraft dogfight.

Ionocraft Windy Day Illusion (Using present day light weight ionocraft)- Things upon a stage seem to blow around; a man’s hat is blown from his head but then, using telekinesis he brings it back to him. How? It’s an ionocraft hat.

Real (or Toy) Ionocraft Sailing Boat – This sailing boat has an ionocraft sail pushed (or pulled) not by wind but by electrohydrodynamic thrust (Perhaps, with present day technology, a toy ionocraft sailing boat could be made).

Ionocraft drawn chariot – Perhaps a strong enough ionocraft could pull someone along on a chariot.

Ionocraft Elevator – This idea is pretty self-explanatory; an ionocraft lift for carrying people up or down.

Ionocraft floating rescue platform/rescue craft – People trapped in high places, like burning sky scrapers could be saved by ionocrafts; almost like flying lifeboats.

Ionocraft Wheel-less Wheelchair- A hover chair for disabled people.

Ionocraft Powered Car/Train- Perhaps instead of lifting, the thrust of an ionocraft could be used to push ground based vehicles.

Ionocraft Sky Bases/Sky Settlements- The ultimate sci-fi fantasy and, perhaps, no more than a fantasy; floating buildings in the sky or perhaps sky-gypsies travelling in sky caravans.

Ionocraft Fake clouds/Thunder Cloud Weapon- Ionocrafts that carry machines which spray out cloud vapour/ or that, perhaps, carry lightning generators that strike enemies below.

Floating Illuminated Christmas Fairy (using the present day, light weight Ionocraft) – An Illuminated Christmas tree fairy carried by, or riding on, an ionocraft. I also imagine ionocraft candle holders that will carry slender Christmas candles or what about Ionocraft Floating Christmas trees or (using current light weight ionocrafts) Floating pop-up Christmas cards.

Ionocraft Holographic Projector Carrier- An ionocraft floats, carrying and projecting a hologram around it (or in front/behind/below/above it). In this way, one could create the illusion of really ghostly looking ghosts.

Music box with ionocraft floating dancer – How about a music box with a floating ionocraft ballerina on top/inside

Ionocraft Hover Car/Stealth Police Vehicle/Silent Hearses – A lot of research is being done by people who want to make an ionocraft aeroplane/space craft but what about making ionocraft electrically powered hover cars (automobiles) or ionocraft stealth police vehicles that, because they hover and have no engines, are so quiet that criminals can't hear them coming or what about the very eery idea of Ionocraft hearses or ionocraft floating coffins.

Ionocraft Surveillance – A remotely controlled ionocraft might be used for surveillance, carrying small lightweight microphones and cameras

Ionocraft Floating Lanterns- I think an ionocraft would make a really spooky Halloween lantern. Perhaps even a lightweight model painted with a luminous paint.

Ionocraft Floating Billboard/Sign – A big ionocraft would make good billboard or sign, like the Goodyear blimp.

Ionocraft Police Drones – Perhaps with with built in taser guns or LED incapacitators.

Ionocraft Floating Security Drones – Ionocrafts fitted with sensors and alarms that go off if an intruder is detected.

Ionocraft Floating Moving Target – A floating moving target for shooting at, perhaps with Laser Tag, type guns.

Ionocraft floating torch – Imagine a floating ionocraft lighting the way ahead.

Ionocraft messenger- Imagine floating messenger robots that would fly off to deliver your message.

Ionocraft Scouts- If you entering dangerous territory; the ionocraft scout will float up ahead using its sensors to warn of a possible ambush

Ionocraft Floating Bombs (also with magnetic limpet mine feature)– Basically, remote controlled ionocrafts with explosives in them, perhaps with magnets on them so that they can attach themselves to things.

Ionocraft floating robot – Another old Sci-Fi dream

Ionocraft Solar Powered Air Mines – Mines that float in the sky to destroy fighter planes and generate their electricity using solar panels.

Ionocraft Hover Probes – Probes for exploring other planets that hover over the planets surface.

Ionocraft floating grenades – If your running away from someone, you prime the grenade and leave it hanging in the air then run away as fast as you can.

Ionocraft Carnival Float Parade – This one has real potential I think. Ionocraft carnival floats for parades.

Ionocraft Mind Football (perhaps possible using current technology) – Researchers in the great, forward looking country of Japan, have managed to create Electro Encephalograph like computer games controlled by the mind so why not have an ionocraft mind-controlled game of football in which two players wearing mentally activated remote controls upon their head try to push an ionocraft into one or other of two goals.

Ionocraft Remote Controlled Spray Painter – Spray pictures onto high walls or other objects by using a floating remote controlled, ionocraft spray painter

Ionocraft Floating Speakers – Position these floating audio speakers anywhere in the room, even on the ceiling.

Ionocraft Solar Power Collector- An ionocraft with solar panels on it for collecting solar power.

Ionocraft Ariel – Can’t get a good TV reception, move this ionocraft ariel around the room using a remote control.

Ionocraft Floating Trolley – Basically a trolly for serving things to party guests.

Ionocraft Rope Bridge Carrier- Need to bridge a gap over a ravine? Why not send over an ionocraft carrying the other end of the rope bridge.

Ionocraft carried grappling hook- The ionocraft carries your grappling hook up and you steer it by remote control before, by remote control, making the grappling hook lock in place.

Ionocraft Grabbing Tool for the elderly- No need to bend down. The ionocraft grabber will pick things up for you using either a mechanical claw or magnet.

Ionocraft Chakra/Krull Glaive/Flying Throwing Star-

The Chakra, that mythical flying throwing weapon of Hindu mythology, (also similar is the Glaive from the movie Krull and the Ninja Shuriken or Throwing Star) is another thing which might be possible with Electrohydrodynamic Thrust; a neurofeedback controlled (or artificially intelligent)throwing weapon that will not only return to you at your command but that you can also control whilst it is in mid-air.

Flying Pack or Suit

And while anything’s still possible, the limitations of the ionocraft still undiscovered, I may as well say that perhaps Electrohydrodynamic Thrust may enable the creation of a neurofeedback controlled flying pack (like the ionocraft equivalent of a jet pack) or even an ionocraft flying suit allowing men to finally fly through the air like a superhero or, if that’s too incredible, then perhaps simply an ionocraft electric powered hand glider.
