Lament Of The Old Star Sailor

That siren song of starlight
is calling to me again
and I feel my bonds more heavy
than most other Earth bound men
and my heart throbs like a distress
signal that no ship can hear,
for the heavens were my mistress
and I ache to feel them near;
long to live that happy life again
of a deep space buccaneer.
Space Kraken fears embrace me,
dark, terrible phantasms,
when I am forced to face the
cold, starless inner fathoms.
Far more than Mother Carey
or that demon, Davy Jones,
what really truly scares me
is to be marooned alone
on this little Earth, for the stars are
where I want to leave my bones.

Yet another far out poem from you well-wisher,
have you been listening to HawkWind? I wonder.
I like this one a lot.
Jenny.

Quite a captivating piece, I
Quite a captivating piece, I think the first 4 lines of the second verse don't flow as well as the rest, much enjoyed the rest though!
