Once upon a long ago in The Land Of Make Believe there was a wicked witch named Poison Ivy and, looking through her magic mirror, she said,
"Mirror, Mirror, show me the dreamiest girl of all".
And, clouds and stars of magic filling the mirror, when they cleared the witch saw a girl named Gloria who was sitting on her bed, hugging her teddybear tightly, looking at a picture in her book of fairytales and dreaming.
She was dreaming about the land of make believe and going there and, cackling, the witch thought of a very nasty trick she could play on the girl.
Then, whirling around, the ugly, old witch transformed herself into a pretty fairy princess with a twinkling smile and then she leapt through her magic mirror and into Glorias bedroom.
"Who are you?", said Gloria, seeing her, with amazement, appear from nowhere.
"I'm your fairy god mother, Gloria", lied the witch, "And I heard that you want to go to the Land of Make Believe. Well, I'll take you there if you want".
"Oh, yes please", said Gloria, "I'd really like that".
"Very well then", said the witch, "Take hold of my hand, say the word Abracadabra and we'll go there quicker than you can say Jumping Jack Flash".
And so, holding her teddybear in one hand Gloria took hold of Poison Ivy's hand with her other and said the word Abracadabra and suddenly they both went whooshing and whizzing and whirling as fast as rockets across the universe.
"Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy gurdy" he sang", she heard a ghostly voice singing, carried on a cosmic breeze as they passed through a world of water and then a purple haze.
"Whats that singing", she asked Poison Ivy.
"Never you mind dear", said the witch

But then they landed again with a hop, skip and jump in the witch's castle.
Only, looking round about her at the dark gloomy castle covered all over with dust and cobwebs, Gloria realized instantly that something was very wrong.
"This isn't how I imagined the land of make believe", she said, "I thought it would be brighter with flowers and rainbows and butterflies and unicorns".
A green door blew open in a wall of the room and out of it came the ghostly singing she heard earlier, "Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy gurdy" he sang".
But the witch slammed the door shut and rolled a rolling stone infront of it to keep it shut
Then the witch, waving her wand, transformed herself from a pretty fairy princess back into an ugly old witch.
"That, my little daydream believer", she replied to Gloria, "Is because I'm a wicked witch. A devil woman".
Then with another wave of her wand and a loud zip-zapping sound, she made an iron cage appear round about Gloria.
"Please release me", said Gloria, "Let me go".
"Never never", said the witch, "You're going to stay in there until I'm ready to put you in my magic melting pot. A good heart is hard to find these days and your heart is so full of goodness it will be perfect for a potion to turn me back into a young, pretty woman again".
Then, with another loud cackle, the witch hobbled off to boil and stir her magic cauldron and while she was doing this Gloria started to talk to her teddybear.
"Oh teddy", she said, "What am I going to do? We've got to get out of this place before that evil woman makes my heart into a potion".
But then, suddenly, something very magical happened because then her teddy bear started to come to life.
"Don't worry, Gloria", he said, "We'll find a way out".
Gloria was amazed.
"You can talk", she said.
"Yes I can", said her Teddy Bear, "This is The Land Of Make Believe, remember. Here, I'm a living doll".
But then, looking round about him, her teddybear had an idea.
"You may not be able to fit through the bars of this cage but a little bear like me can", he said and, saying this, the bear squeezed his little furry body between two iron bars and out of the cage.
"Thats wonderful", said Gloria, "Now you can go and get help. Someone to rescue me".
"Don't worry", said the bear, "I won't let you down".
And saying those words the teddy bear, creeping past the witch and her guards unnoticed, slipped out of her castle and went searching for help.
And while he was searching, walking through the dense, dark and thorny forest that surrounded the witch's castle, the teddy bear came upon three people who had all been cursed by the witch and, ashamed of their mutated appearance, had fled into the forest to hide
One was a girl that the witch had made very tall and thin, stretching her out like a rubber band, called long, tall tally; one was a man she had turned into a wooly bull headed creature called wooly bully and the third was a jangly metal man called Mr Bojangles.
"I need a hero", he told them, "Someone to help me save my friend Gloria from the witch Poison Ivy".
But none of them wanted to help him because they were all very afraid of the witch.
"I can't fight the witch", said Long Tall Sally, "If she stretched me out like this last time just think what she might do to me if I go back to her castle".
"Sallys right", said Wooly Bully, "And if she turned me into a wooly bull headed creature she might turn me into something even worse".
"And she might catch me with a magnet and turn me into scrap metal", said Mr Bojangles, jangling with fear.
"True", replied the Teddy bear, "She might do all of those things. But if we don't stop her then she's only going keep on doing bad things to people and you don't want anyone else to suffer the way you've suffered do you?".
Then teddybear talked to each of them one by one.
"You're not just a long tall person", he told Long Tall sally, "You're a giant and inside I know you have a heart just as big as your body and the courage to fill it".
Then he said to Wooly Bully, "You may have the head of a bull but I can tell you also have the heart of a lion and the eye of the tiger; the courage to stand up and fight for what you know is right"
And to Mr Bojangles he said, "You may think you're a coward who jangles when he shakes but you're a man of steel, made of sterner stuff but with a heart of gold. If anyone can face that witch and save my friend Gloria, I know its you".
And hearing the teddy bear say those things they said he was almost as inspiring as The Hurdy Gurdy Man, the wizard who had once ruled The Land Of Make believe and started to believe that perhaps they could fight the witch and win.
And so they all marched behind the teddybear to the witches castle.
Ofcourse when the witch's soldiers saw them marching up to the castle, they started to fire their bows and arrows at them but long tall sally, who was just as tall as the castle, took her long tall broom and swept them off the parapets.
Then Wooly Bully, lowering his horns, charged into the door of the castle just like a battering ram and knocked it down with a loud crash.
But then, unfortunately, they entered the castle and came face to face with the witch, Poison Ivy.
"What is this", she said to them, "Some kind of joke?".
"No", said the Teddybear, "We've come to rescue my friend Gloria and stop you"
"You have, have you", she said, taking a magic wand from up her sleeve and pointing it at them, "Well, I'll see about that. I'll turn you all into tiny sniveling toadstools".
And, saying the magic words, In A Gada Da Vida, the witch made a green thunderbolt leap from her wand towards them but then, just at that moment Mr Bojangles, feeling a surge of courage fill his normally cowardly heart, stepped forwards and his metal body was so polished and shiny like a mirror that the thunderbolt bounced back off of it and hit the witch in her long pointy nose, knocking her backwards into her magic melting pot.
Then, with a loud shriek, the witch melted down into bubbling, rainbow coloured goo.
"We are the champions", said the Teddybear leaping in the air with glee.

Then Long, Tall, Sally; Wooly Bully and Mr Bojangles all cheered, sure that they had won.
But then, as they were cheering, a bubble rose slowly from the melting pot that, bursting, released a witches scream and then, back up out of the melting pot, they all saw the witch crawl, now partly melted like a wax work doll but still very alive.
"I will survive", she rasped determinedly.
Then, though dripping goo all over the floor of the room, she got to her a knees and, raising up her wand, aimed it at the teddy bear, an evil grin spreading across her face.
"Oh no", said the Teddybear, looking at her with fright in his eyes and trembling, "This isn't how fairytales are supposed to end".
But then, suddenly the green door in the wall of the room that the witch had held shut with a stone earlier, flew open with a strong gust of wind and out of it came that singing that Gloria had heard earlier, ""Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy gurdy" he sang".
Only this time the music seemed to change and become solid until, to their amazement, everyone saw it turn into a wizard in brightly coloured clothes and carrying a strange sort of musical instrument.
"Its the hurdy gurdy man", said Wooly Bully, recognizing him.
"No", shrieked the witch, "It can't be".
But then the hurdy gurdy man started to play upon his hurdy gurdy, turning its handle and, a whirlwind of colours whirling out of the instrument, it picked up the witch and carried her, shrieking, away to the dark side of the moon.
Then the Hurdy Gurdy man, using the same strange musical magic lifted the curses the witch had placed upon his three friends; turning Long Tall Sally back to her normal size, Wooly Bully back into a human and Mr Bojangles back from metal into flesh and then he even made the cage disappear from around Gloria.
"You're the man I heard singing before, aren't you", she asked him.
"I'm the Hurdy Gurdy man", he said to Gloria, "Who goes singing songs of love. But, sadly, the love song had gone out of the land of make believe".
But then Gloria, taking hold of the hand of her Teddybear asked the Hurdy Gurdy Man if he knew how she could get back home.
"Oh thats easy", said the Hurdy Gurdy Man, "You just have to say the words, "What did you say mother?"".
"What did you say mother?", asked Gloria, surprised.
"I said, stop being a daydreamer and come downstairs because dinners almost ready", said her mother, standing in the hallway outside her room.
Then, looking round about her, Gloria realized that she was not in The Land Of Make Believe anymore, but back in her bedroom at home.
"It was all just a dream", she sighed, disappointedly.
But then, looking down at the book of fairytales on her lap Gloria realized that there was a new fairytale in the book, one about a witch called Poison Ivy, the land of make believe, a talking teddybear, three remarkable heroes, a magic wizard and a girl called Gloria
