Life gave me a flower;
I wanted a gold ring.
I threw away the flower
now I don’t have anything.
Life gave me an hour
to gaze upon the sun;
I spent my time complaining
and now the hours gone.

Life gave me a chance; to
Life gave me a chance;
to use it or abuse it.
I like the style of this poem.

I enjoyed this. Gold rings last but flowers are far more delightful. If only we could always enjoy the moment!
