The Little Star and his Mother

Oh, Mother star, what are
all those bright things on Earth below?
Whenever I look down, I
always seem to see them glow.
Oh, Baby star, those are
the eyes of children, can’t you see?
Whenever children make a wish,
their eyes will glow with glee.
Oh, Mother star, what are
those children, with their eyes so bright,
wishing for that makes their
eyes give out that great big light?
Oh, Baby star, they are
lonely children wishing for love;
hoping the stars will hear
their wishes so far up above.
Oh, Mother star, you know
that I’ve been making a wish too?
I wish I could make all
of those children’s wishes come true.
Oh, Baby star, then I
will grant all their wishes tonight
and when each one wakes with
the sun, someone will hug them tight.
