1st Verse
I listen to the rhythm of the falling rain
the pretty pitter-patter on my window pane;
with thoughts of us together running through my brain
waiting until I hear you coming home again.
2nd Verse
Then suddenly I hear the most amazing sound;
I recognize your footsteps walking on the ground
and, inside me, I hear a drumbeat start to pound
I hear your keys jangle and my heart jumps around.
Chorus:
Everything turns to music; pretty angels singing;
the sound of sunshine filling me like church bells ringing
and my heart starts to flutter like the wings of a dove
then I can’t hear myself think beneath the loudness of love.
3rd Verse
Then you walk in and then you say hello to me
and your deep voice just booms like a cello to me
my passion swells inside me like a melody
I hear waves crashing and I sink below the sea.
4th Verse
Then when you put a record on; some old single
some silly sentimental song; just a jingle
somehow it fills me with a fantastic tingle
I glow as we slow dance and our spirits mingle
Chorus:
Everything turns to music; pretty angels singing;
the sound of sunshine filling me like church bells ringing
and my heart starts to flutter like the wings of a dove
then I can’t hear myself think beneath the loudness of love.
