Love, let us be wedded in the Spring.
That’s when the Earth lifts up its bridal veil of white
and the sun is like big, brass church bells that ring;
the little flowers, like bridesmaids pretty and bright;
blossoms will scatter like confetti from the trees
and we’ll have a choir of birds and an organist of bees;
then the life we share is bound to be sublime
like the happy, warm and golden Summertime.

What a lovely picture! But is there usually only one organist? Could I suggest - orchestra, and as a Bee, could I be part of it, please. I would love to come to this wedding, Bee

Thank you, Bee. One bee can't really sound like the drone of an organ, perhaps a stylophone but not an organ, you need a lot of bees to make a noise comparable to a church organ. It would be nice to have an orchestra at a wedding but I think, unless they're very rich, most people just have a church organ, don't they? But I don't want to be pedantic. It's poetry after all. Glad you liked it and, if I ever get married then you will certainly get an invitation.

Thanks, pia. You're right. http://www.verbix.com/webverbix/English/wed.html But it seems such a pointless,silly and archaic rule that I think I may just ignore it. Glad you liked it anyway.

I really enjoyed this - a well written, uplifting poem with sublime imagery - a joy to read. I wrote a poem comparing the snow to a bride's veil which you might like to read. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!
