Magic box idea (Box with a self-righting inside)
1.Every side of this box opens but inside is a self-righting (like a roly-poly toy) sphere, with six square openings (one at the top, one on the bottom and one on each side), so that no matter which way up you turn the box you will get the same opening at the top.
2. For example, put a handkerchief into a side compartment of the box and turn the box over so that that side compartment is facing upwards, now reopen it and the handkerchief will have vanished. Why? Because although you turned the box over, the sphere inside, because it is self-righting will not turn over.
***Avoidance***- A game that is part chance and part problem solving (The rules may need improving but I like the general concept.)
- You have a chequered board that is six squares by six squares.
- You have a black piece and a white piece.
- You also have a black dice and a white dice.
- You roll the two dice.
- Whatever number is on the white dice you must move the white piece that number of spaces and whatever number is on the black dice you must move the black piece that number of spaces.
- You may move the pieces in any direction and in any way, even jumping over each other and if you come to the edge of the board you can move sideways.
- But you must never place the white piece and the black piece on the same line horizontally; vertically or diagonally. Your aim is to avoid that happening.
- Also (to make it harder) every time you roll a 1, 3 or a 5 the black piece cannot be placed on a white square and the white piece cannot be placed on a black square.
- If you manage that for ten rolls you win the game.
Pound Rolling-
Pound Rolling is a game which involves rolling pound coins.
- Firstly you set up a stack of coins. This stack is not for knocking down, you have to avoid knocking it down.
- Near to the stack you balance one coin on its edge. This is the target coin, the coin that you must knock away from the stack without knocking over or noticeably disturbing the stack.
- Now you aim and roll your coins so that they knock away the target coin but don’t hit the stack.
- The harder the shot is, the higher the points you win.
