The Magic Easter Egg

T’was on a pretty springtime day;
a magic egg, a hen did lay;
the biggest egg that was ever seen,
painted blue, yellow, pink and green.

And when it hatched what was inside?
A merry-go-round fairground ride!
Pretty horses with rainbow manes
and silver saddles and golden reins.

And all the little girls and boys
rode on that carousel with joy
while Easter birds sang merrily
and rabbits skipped and danced with glee
and every one was heard to say,
“Oh what a lovely springtime day”.
