1st Verse:
The unicorns haven’t a chance, sir;
for their horns, they are hunted and slaughtered.
The mermaids are dying of cancer
from the chemicals dumped in their water.
2nd Verse:
The fairies flitted to the cities
‘cause the lumberjacks destroyed their forests.
To them we are fiends without pity
for the world that's vanishing before us.
Chorus:
But let’s hope it’s a happy ending
after all;
that they’ll hear the words nature’s sending;
heed her call;
that man will see the world is worth more
than his wealth;
that he’ll see something more important
than himself.
‘cause it’s a magical world
full of wonderful things;
let’s save it for the boys and girls
that tomorrow brings.
Yes, it’s a magical world
full of wonderful things
and if we poison it all
then we will feel the sting.
3rd Verse:
Even the angels of salvation
look down upon the poisoned world and cry
when they see how our population
smears air pollution all across the sky.
4th Verse:
Only the Grim Reaper’s delighted
with all the devestation that we’ve done.
More than disease, mankind has blighted
the whole world and yet blindly carries on.
Chorus:
But let’s hope it’s a happy ending
after all;
that they’ll hear the words nature’s sending;
heed her call;
that man will see the world is worth more
than his wealth;
that he’ll see something more important
than himself.
‘cause it’s a magical world
full of wonderful things;
let’s save it for the boys and girls
that tomorrow brings.
Yes, it’s a magical world
full of wonderful things
and if we poison it all
then we will feel the sting.
