Idea for SETI: Using our Sun to send a message to aliens

1. Firstly, we make our sun do something peculiar and unnatural that could not be mistaken for a natural phenomenon.
2. Secondly, alien astronomers on a distant planet who are observing our sun in the way that our astronomers view distant stars, notice that our sun is doing something peculiar and unnatural.
3. Their top scientific minds then go away and try to fathom why our sun is behaving oddly.
4. They come to the conclusion that near to our sun must be a planet inhabited by intelligent life forms who are making the sun behave in a peculiar unnatural way.
5. Thus we signal to those alien scientists that we are intelligent and that we are located near to our sun.

THE ‘TALKING CARDS’ GAME OF CHANCE

1. There are 3 cards. One with the word LUCKY on its face. One with the word NOT on its face and one with the word RIGHT on its face.
2. The 3 cards are shuffled face down and also placed face down in front of the CHOOSER.
3. The chooser picks 1 card to remove.
4. The Dealer then removes that card and turns over the other two cards.
5. If the two cards turned over are RIGHT and LUCKY, then the chooser wins.
6. If the two cards turned over are NOT and RIGHT, then the Chooser loses
7. If the two cards turned over are NOT and LUCKY then the Chooser loses.

Phoboid -Non-Violent Psychological robot weapon

1. A robot that looks and moves exactly like a giant spider will be frightening to people even if they know it’s not real.
2. It will be doubly as frightening if they are told it is real and dangerous.
3. But it will be a non-violent deterrent because it won’t even have to attack people if it can stimulate a fear reaction, it will keep them away. But it really would have to be realistic.

Funnel handle shovel (This may exist already but I have not seen any.)

1.            A funnel handle shovel is what it’s called; a shovel with a hollow handle that is used to funnel out whatever the shovel scoops up.

2.            The hollow handle has a stopper in it to stop what has been scooped up leaking out until you want to pour it out.

3.            Basically, you scoop up something with the shovel and, when you want to pour it out, you pull the stopper out of the handle and it pours through the handle like the nozzle of a funnel.

Stick out your tongue -Sweet Roulette Game –

1.            All the sweets in a packet look the same but some stain your tongue a bright colour and the others don’t.

2.            Players take turns picking sweets and eating them and, after eating each sweet, stick out their tongue.

3.            The player whose tongue changes colour first is the loser.

Mechanical Three Boxes Prediction Trick Idea

1.Effect: The magician places three boxes in front of an audience member; one red, one blue, one green. He then asks the audience member to pick a colour and open one of the boxes. When they do there is a card inside saying, “You will pick this box”. The magician then opens the other two boxes to show the audience member that they have no cards inside.

2. Method: a) Each of the boxes contains a secret compartment in the lid which opens up only when the box is opened, dropping a card into the box before snapping shut again. But there is also a small button on the side of each box and, by holding the button down, you can open the box without opening the small compartment. b) When the audience member opens the box they picked then the compartment opens dropping the card into their box but when the magician opens the other two boxes that they didn’t pick, he holds down the button that stops the secret compartment from opening.
