My Cat Matt

My cat Matt can stand upon one hand
while juggling fruit with his feet.
My cat Matt can fly a plane and land
on a bus that’s zooming down the street.
My cat Matt can leap over a house
but my cat Matt can not catch a mouse.

My cat Matt can roar like a lion
and climb the highest mountain ever.
My cat Matt can bend bars of iron
and split the atom, he’s so clever
but, one thing my cat Matt can not do
is manage to catch a mouse. It’s true.

My cat Matt can do karate kicks.
My cat Matt speaks fluent Cantonese.
My cat Matt even does magic tricks
while swinging on the flying trapeze
but, one thing that my cat is awful at
is catching a mouse and that’s a fact.

My cat Matt can catch a falling star
or a speeding cheetah easily.
My cat Matt catches rainbows in a jar,
just for a minute, then sets them free
but my cat Matt can’t catch any mice
because he loves mice. He thinks they’re nice.
