Nature’s United Kingdom

By well-wisher
- 1401 reads
My hearts persuaded by the words,
in pretty native tongues of birds,
that Mankind’s bonds can’t be undone;
that Nature’s kingdom must be one.
My souls persuaded by the power
in silent oratory of flowers.
They speak to me in beauty’s bliss
and say “You are a part of this”.
And I cannot argue with death;
unto this Earth I’ll give my breath;
this island of my bones and flesh
will become one with Nature’s mesh.
But Man would not feel so enslaved;
he would feel proud to call it his
if he could see how bright and brave
Nature’s United Kingdom is.

Very good well-wisher. Tight
Very good well-wisher. Tight rhyme that is pretty flawless so my hat's off! Perhaps you might look again at the penultimate stanza in terms of rhyme form. Great poem.
