Psychic nutrition would be a branch of psychology that focus's upon the area of psychological needs and wants and the effects of underconsuming or overconsuming those needs and wants.
The theory that underlies Psychic Nutrition: The theory that underlies Psychic Nutrition is that, just as humans have certain physical requirements (such as water and the four basic food groups), they also have psychic requirements for their psychological well-being.
Furthermore, just as underconsuming or overconsuming certain things can have a harmful effect upon the body; Psychological nutritionists believe that underconsuming or overconsuming certain needs or wants can have a harmful effect upon the psyche.
In this sense, Psychic Nutritionists are both anti-materialist and anti-repressionist; they believe the healthiest thing for the human mind and spirit is neither material denial nor material overconsumption but balance.

Psychic Nutrition could be viewed as secular spiritualism: Since psychic nutrition offers us guidance upon how to live our lives, not based upon God or some supernatural belief, but upon testable psychological effects so it could be called a secular form of spiritualism.
The Philosophy of Psychological Nutrition: Psychological Nutrition also has implications within the field of philosophy because the theories that underlie Psychological nutrition can be, themselves, tested and debated and through this means the usefulness of Psychological Nutrition can be validated or invalidated.
