A Possible Argument for Creationism/Intelligent Design:
All intelligent design resembles evolution; whether it be the design of a work of art or the design of a machine; all creations evolve.
All designs come about via a slow process of trial, error and elimination which resembles natural selection; no design comes into existence fully formed; no designer says, “Let there be an idea that works” and conjures up one; a designer has a lot of competing ideas; makes lots of prototypes and tests them to see which works best and the one that works is the one which the designer keeps and improves further upon through further trial, error and elimination.
And if the process of all intelligent design resembles evolution or, to put it another way, all evolution resembles the process of intelligent design; then Darwinian evolution resembles intelligent design; therefore Darwinian evolution could be seen as evidence for intelligent design; evidence for God.
Or to put it another way; the process of a human designing looks like evolution and so the process of a God designing would look like evolution.
Idea for Mentalism/Fake Clairvoyance: Psychological/Personality Based Life Prediction Method
- Personality isan important factor in determining what happens to a person in their life and, simply by knowing a person’s personality, one could roughly predict what kind of life that person is going to have then pass that prediction off as clairvoyance.
Some examples:
- If a person is a natural risk taker then they’re more likely to take lots of bad risks and encounter a lot of problems as a consequence.
- An over confident person is also likely to take risks and have more calamities.
- A person who is very emotional and happy, always on a high, in my experience, similar to a person with bi-polar disorder, is likely to experience a low period and depression and to magnify, in their mind, how bad their problems are.
- A gullible person; whether you make a correct prediction about their life or not, is going to confirm it to themselves because they want to believe it.
- If they are the kind of person who is naturally compliant, they’re like to be dominated or manipulated by stronger willed people in personal or work relationships.
- The factor of environment: These are just some suggestions based on my own observation and it’s an area that requires a lot of study. Furthermore, if one could also make a similar study of how certain environments effect people of different personality types one could make even more accurate life predictions
Idea: Forgery Mugger Decoy–
1. A Mugger decoy is a fake thing which looks so valuable that a Mugger will steal it rather than searching for hidden things of genuine value.
2. For example: Mugger decoy wallet: What if you were to carry a wallet in your inside pocket with realistic looking fake money and bank cards, credit cards in it; like high quality forgeries? Then if a mugger attacks you, you simply give him that while holding on to your real wallet with real money and cards. If the fake money and cards are of good enough quality a mugger is not going to waste time trying to check their authenticity.
Philosophical/Theological Argument: “Why a benevolent God might hide itself from us”.
What if evidence of God’s existence was discovered or, better still, God suddenly appeared in the sky, revealing itself to everyone? Would this be a good thing or a bad thing?
Well, uncertainty about the existence of God allows human beings the freedom to think for themselves and choose what to believe.
If God appeared in the sky and told us all what we were supposed to believe and do then we would no longer be able to think for ourselves; we would have no choice but to follow God’s will and that surely would be hellish for a lot of people.
And if God, assuming that God exists, is a loving God then it would not desire our unhappiness therefore it is reasonable to assume that a benevolent God would hide itself and all evidence of itself from us in order to maintain our uncertainty and thus preserve our freedom of choice.
Simply put, a loving God might not reveal itself to human kind because to reveal itself to human kind would be an unloving act.
Idea: Forensic hoover – A forensic hoover is an intelligent (computerized) vacuum cleaner or even a robot containing a portable lab that analyses everything that it sucks up and is designed to detect things, for example, such as, with ultraviolet light, traces of blood.
The game of Jarula-
- There are two players. Player X and Y.
- Each player has six Jarula cards numbered 1 to 6. Player X’s cards are red and black; Player Y’s cards are green and white. They each lay the six cards out, face up and in order, in front of them.
- First a player rolls a six-sided dice to see how many turns (chances to roll) they have .
- Each player then uses those turns rolling the dice and whatever numbers they roll they take that number out of their opponents six cards. (For example, if they roll a 5 they take their opponents ‘5’ card)
- When they have used up their turns they hand the dice to their opponent and he does the same.
- If they roll a card number that their opponent doesn’t have (because they have already won it) they win nothing with that roll. (For example, if they roll a 6 but they already have their opponents ‘6’ card, the roll counts for nothing)
- A player, by rolling, can win back any cards they have lost (For example, if they have earlier lost a ‘3’ card to their opponent and they roll a 3 then they have the option to take back their lost ‘3’ card instead of taking their opponents ‘3’ card).
- The object of the game is to win all your opponents cards.
