Premise 1: Scientific Realists believe in absolute reality/truth and that, through Science, we can know absolute truth.
Premise 2: Truly absolute truth is unchanging truth. If truth changes you cannot call it absolute.
Premise 3: Scientists continually alter Reality -
a) Through Paradigm shifts (The more they learn in their search for ultimate truth, the more the truth about what Reality is changes).
b) Though the altering of Nature.
c) Through the barriers broken by technology.
Conclusion: Scientific Realism is self-contradictory.
Not only that but the pre-scientific idea of the God designed universe was more ordered and more absolute than the post-scientific idea of the universe. Modern scientists have, rather than revealing that there is an absolute truth, revealed that the universe is more random and chaotic than their pre-scientific ancestors thought.
