How sorrowful, the bird
that sings but is not heard;
though nature gave it voice
to spread the air with joys
and wrote that gentle tune,
all summer long, it croons;
a tune of such bright cheer.
It sings, but no one hears.

Thank you, Jenny. Unfortunately, my wireless router broke down and so I was unable to go online and post anything on ABCtales for almost a week which was sort of the inspiration for the poem. Glad you enjoyed it, Jenny and I agree; a world without birdsong would be a far gloomier place and yet its one of life's charms that people take for granted.

new well-wisher Lovely poem says all about nature, Don't seem hear the Cuckoo now! The the weather is dreary. Still have record of 'The Paradise Bird' song. Sorry! your wireless router broke down. Enjoyed this congrats;on the cherry! Bird's used to twitter here,not so much now. Like us waiting for the sun. julie

one of the sites I work on has 12 wild peacocks, 2 families of buzzards and a cuckoo amongst other varieties of birds all thriving, this time of year early morning its one of my favourite places to be. Cheers for the great poem well-wisher :)
