1st Verse:
Once, the sun was feeling down;
the blue skies only seemed to frown
and raindrops kept on pouring over head.
But then a singer came to town;
a wand’ring minstrel and a clown.
He strummed upon his guitar and he said,
Chorus:
This is my song for the sun;
a song to make it cheer up
so all the skies will clear up
and it will shine its rays on everyone.
‘Cause when the sun shares its light,
such happiness it brings;
making all the birds sing
and the hearts of all the people feel so bright.
2nd Verse:
Suddenly, sunlight burst through
the clouds and grey skies turned to blue
and the sun had a big smile on its face.
The minstrel’s song had brought her cheer
and now she smiled from ear to ear;
spreading gold sunbeams all over the place.
Chorus:
This is my song for the sun;
a song to make it cheer up
so all the skies will clear up
and it will shine its rays on everyone.
‘Cause when the sun shares its light,
such happiness, it brings;
making all the birds sing
and the hearts of all the people feel so bright.
