The bright springtime sun gets out of bed;
lifting up his sleepy, golden head;
yawning, stretching wide his limbs of light;
throwing off winters blankets of white.
And everywhere the flowers wake up too;
roses of red and yellow, pink and blue;
stretch wide green leaves and, with their petals, yawn;
touched by the gentle, golden rays of dawn.
Then everywhere, little children arise.
They yawn and stretch and rub their sleepy eyes
and, pulling bedroom curtains open wide,
welcome the bright sunlight of Spring inside.
