One Springtime, many years ago, a terrible storm blew; roaring like a fierce ferocious lion in the sky and all the little birds and animals hid themselves away from the storm in fear which made the storm very happy because he was a mean, big bully of a storm who liked frightening people but then, hanging from the branch of a nearby tree, the storm saw a wind chime that was dangling and jangling; happily bobbing about and dancing in the wind and it looked almost as if it was laughing.
“What are you laughing about?”, the storm bellowed angrily at the wind chime.
The wind chime just continued to laugh.
“Because you keep tickling me”, it giggled.
But the storm didn’t like being laughed at and so it thought it would teach the wind chime a lesson
and it huffed and it puffed and it blew with all its might.
To the storms surprise, however, the harder it blew the harder the little wind chime started to laugh.
Even puffing out his cheeks and blowing a gale that bent all the trees backwards he couldn't stop the wind chimes happy laughter.
Eventually, the stormy wind ran out of breath and grumbling, but admitting defeat, it flew away to the far side of the moon to sulk.
Then the gentle, springtime breeze that was the wind chimes best friend, came back.
“You really showed that bully”, whispered the breeze.
“I did?”, chuckled the wind chime.
“Oh yes”, said the breeze, “If there’s one thing a bully can’t stand it’s a person whose happiness they can’t take away”.
