The Story of How Humpty Dumpty was saved

Once upon a time there was an egg
bubbling in a witch’s cooking pot
when, suddenly, it grew two arms and legs
and leapt from the pot shouting, “Ow! Too hot!”.

Then off poor little Humpty Dumpty ran
as fast as any little eggman can
but, tired, he stopped to rest upon a wall
and that’s when Humpty had his famous fall.

Poor Humpty, how he shattered when he fell;
just as the famous nursery rhyme tells
and, as it says, the kings horses and men
though they were called, could not mend him again.

But then the fairy of the Evening star
flew down and, her magical wand, she waved
the pieces of Humpty came back together
and that is how Humpty Dumpty was saved.
