1st Verse:
Oh, the Sunshine Corporation;
established 3015
built a big wall up in space and
now the sun can just be seen
by the ones who pay their sunshine bills
so only rich folks on the hill
can bathe in golden sunshine
and walk in walled fields of green.
2nd Verse:
All the human population;
those who couldn’t pay the price
live in dark and desolation;
endless winter snow and ice.
Only children born with silver spoons
have seen anything but the moon;
the wealthier get wealthier
while the poor are sacrificed.
Chorus:
Oh,
it’s the oldest story ever told;
the story of the rich man’s greed for gold;
the rich get richer; the poor left in the cold;
but this worlds not yours to be bought and sold.
3rd Verse:
And all those in deprivation;
their minds are starting to wake.
All the poor of every nation
have had as much as they can take;
sick of holding out the begging cup,
now all the poor are rising up
and the rich are getting frightened
‘cause they can feel the whole earth shake.
Chorus:
Oh,
it’s the oldest story ever told;
the story of the rich man’s greed for gold;
the rich get richer; the poor left in the cold;
but this worlds not yours to be bought and sold.
