Superhydrophobic Submarine

Submarines and other things that travel underwater might be able to travel much faster if they were covered in a water-repellent substance.

Superhydrophobic Anti-Tsunami Barriers-

This may not work but Tsunami’s are made of water and so it would interesting to know how they would react to superhydrophobic barriers.

Superhydrophobic  Unsinkable Boats –

Could one make a boat unsinkable if it was coated with a superhydrophobic substance that would cause the sea to repel it.

Superhydrophobic Hydroelectric Generators –

What if hydroelectric generators were coated with a superhydrophobic substance so that water repelled and thus propelled them.

Superhydrophobic Desalination-

Perhaps Superhydyrophobic substances could be used to extract fresh water from salt water.

Supehydrophobic Erosion Barriers –

Perhaps superhydrophobic barriers could be used to halt coastal erosion.

Superhydrophobic Flood Clearing –

You could possibly push back; contain and control flood waters using superhydrophic substances which would make it easier to clear areas of flood water.

Superhydrophobic Cure for drowning –

This sounds too crazy to work but perhaps a superhydrophobic substance might get water out of someone’s lungs.

Superhydrophobic Lifeline/Life preservers/Life jacket/lifeboat – Like my unsinkable boat idea, perhaps a superhydrophobic lifeline/Life preservers/Life jacket/lifeboat might stay afloat better, even in stormy conditions.

Superhydrophobic Amphibious Vehicles – I would think that amphibious vehicles would benefit from a superhydrophobic coating.

Superhydrophobic hairgel /hair-spray-

People are bound to make superhydrophobic umbrellas, hats and jackets but use this and you may never need an umbrella again.

Superhydrophobic Roof Coating –

Making leaky roofs a thing of the past.

Superhydrophobic Sabotage – One could sabotage lots things that rely upon liquid, for example petrol engines or water supplies or oil wells by pouring a superhydrophobic substance into them.

Superhydrophobic Water-sculptures – One could actually carve a picture from a pool of liquid using a superhydrophobic substance.

Superhydrophic Cables/ Electrics – Electricity and water don’t mix but what electrical cables and machines were coated in a superhydrophobic substance then one could place them under water without any ill consequence.

Lightsabre Landmine Destroyer – I can see lightsabres making short work of landmines

Light Missiles – Projectiles made of solid light

Tron (or Automan) like lightcycles/light cars/light helicopters (with whirling light sabre propellers/ light planes and light spaceships

Light buildings and entire cities of light.

Automatic light buildings- Just flick a switch and a building appears

Light bridges- Flick a switch and a light bridge spans a river.

Solidlight propulsion – Ships propelled by jets of solid light

Lightdrioids – Robots made of solid light

Holographic machines – Holograms that, because they are solid, can be used as machines to lift things and generate power and do all the things that old fashioned machines do only a million times better.

Lightwindows – Illuminated windows made of solid light instead of glass.

Forcefields and Forceshields – Shields of solid light as they are normally seen in Science Fiction; either large ones for protecting buildings and vehicles or smaller portable ones that protect individual people.

Solid-Light Tools – The ones I think seem most plausible are lightsabre like welding tools; light sabre like chisels for sculpting and light drills.

Search for extra-terrestrial intelligent life message carrier/faster than light robots- Perhaps this new matter can travel at very high speeds. I don’t know if faster than light is out of the question but perhaps it’s just the kind of thing you need to send messages that will be received by intelligent alien beings on other planets or perhaps you could make faster than light sentient ships and robots out of it to carry Earths friendly message to the distant stars.

Solid light Monorails – As featured in the sequel to Tron; trains that run on rails of light.

Solid Light Deadly Holograms – Holograms that, like laser beams, have a touch that burns

Solid light riding spaceships and skyships – These are like monorails but travel through the air or through space.

Holo-putty - Mould and sculpt solid light as if it were clay (a bit like the green light of the Green Lantern comics)
