Rules of NEXTA:
- ROLLING AND SCORING: Player A rolls a six sided dice and gets a number (For example 3)
- Player B rolls the dice and a) If he can roll a number that is immediately next to the number that player A rolled (for example 2 or 4 which are immediately next to 3) he scores 1 point but b) whenever he manages to roll exactly the same number that his opponent rolled then he scores double points.
- Whenever the first player rolls a 1 or a 6, this makes it harder for the other player because only 2 is next to 1 and only 5 is next to 6.
- THE NEXTA BOARD: Nexta is played using a 6 square by 6 square board. Each Player has 6 pieces that are lined up horizontally across the middle two rows of the board facing each other.
- Every time a player EITHER fails to score a point OR whenever their opponent scores a point they must move one of their pieces a square closer to the edge of the board and, when all of their pieces are at the edge of the board, knock them over the edge of the board each time they fail.
- Furthermore, each time their opponent scores double points, it means that they must EITHER move one piece two spaces closer to the edge OR two pieces one space closer to the edge.
- However, every time they score a point they can move a piece back towards the centre of the board (and one piece two squares ORtwo pieces one square when they score double points).
- The player who has no pieces left on the board is the loser; the other is the winner.
THE CORE: (Rotating circular board game Game for 2 players)
- The core is played upon a circular board, divided up into 6 concentric circles or rings which get smaller and smaller.
- The centre circle is the objective of the game, it is the centre circle that players have to reach and their pieces begin on the outermost circle, upon any blue square* of their choosing.
- However, each of the circles between the outermost circle and the centre circle rotate.
- *And each of the circles is divided up into segments (squares) of red and blue. (The First circle is divided up into 36 segments, the 2ndinto 30, the 3rdinto 24, the 4th into 18, the 5thinto 12 and the 6th (centre circle) into 6.)
- Players may only move their piece onto blue squares.
- There are two rotation dice; one red one for clockwise and one blue one for anti-clockwise rotation of a circle.
- Each turn, a player rolls the dice and rotates the circle upon which they wish to move their piece according to the dice roll. (For example if they roll 4 with the red dice and 3 with the blue dice then they rotate the circle in front of their piece 4 squares clockwise and 3 squares anti clockwise).
- They may only move their piece forward onto the next circle if a blue square is aligned with the blue square their piece is on.
- Furthermore, each of the circles between the first circle and the innermost circle are guarded by Guardian pieces, placed upon red squares. There are 5 on the second circle, 4 on the third circle, 3 on the fourth circle and 2 on the fifth circle.
- If the square that a player is on becomes aligned with a square that a Guardian is on then a player must roll the Guardian Dice.
- The Guardian dice is a six sided dice upon which two faces have the word “Freeze”, two faces have the word “Banish” and two faces have the word “Destroy”. If a player rolls “Freeze” then they miss a turn; if they roll “Banish” then they return the piece to the starting circle and if they roll “Destroy” then the piece is killed/out of the game.
- Each player has three pieces and thus 3 chances to reach the centre circle.
