The Unanswerable Question

"What is the answer to this question?".

 

^As you can see this is a proper question and yet it is unanswerable.

 

Possible answers:

 

One possible answer, however, could be "What" because the question sounds like the answer, "What is the answer to this question".

 

Also you could say "The answer is there is no answer".

 

Objection: But this is a self referential question, ofcourse you can't answer a self-referential question.

 

Response: Ofcourse you can. "How many words are in this question?" is a self referential question

to which the answer is "Seven" and "Is there an answer to this question?" is a self-referential question to which the answer is "Yes" and "What is this question?" is a self-answering question.
