Under an Autumn Moon (1930’s Fred Astaire type of tune)

Thank you, bbanyard. When I was growing up it was normal to see old black and white films and hollywood musicals on television (sadly, nowadays reality TV and cookery/antiques/home improvement programmes are all you ever see) and I've always admired  Fred Astaire as a dancer singer and actor. My favourite Fred Astaire films are his later ones like Funny Face and Finnian's Rainbow but it's in his early films like "Flying Down To Rio" and "The Gay Divorcee" that you see what a brilliant dancer and choreographer he was. Many prefer Gene Kelly and his more balletic style but while I definitely think Kelly had the film star looks and a stronger singing voice, I think that Astaire was more of an innovator and a showman and he had a carefree, elegance and charm aswell as that twinkle in his eye that made him perfect for playing the leading man in light romantic comedies.
