Unweaving the rainbow

When Dawkins shines truth
through his prism
there is no rainbow;
no various colours of belief;
no gods of red and blue and green.
There is only white truth;
blinding, searing, absolute
and it may be strange to some
but I would rather look at a rainbow
than stare into his blinding light.

But Dawkins' "truth" is his ideas, not real truth. The colour of real truth isn't because it has different interpretations, but because it has simplicity and depth and its facets need to be thought about and understood more and more. Rhiannon

You speak, like Dawkins, with an air of certainty about truth but you don't understand what my poem means. I never claim within the poem that Dawkins possess's 'real truth' as you call it but that believing that there is one, objective truth leads to a tyranny and a homogenous human society without the beautiful rainbow of many belief systems.

If you've ever read H.G.Wells's "The Shape Of Things To Come" it talks about the formation of a technocracy where religion is replaced by Science as a guide to living. This is what proselytizing atheists like Dawkins and Sam Harris want to do but I believe that replacing religion with science is as bad as making the whole world Christian or dying every one with dark skin white. It is just the destruction of precious human diversity.
