I made a castle out of sand.
The fairest fort in all the land
with turrets broad and towers tall
and cockleshells upon its walls.
The fairest fort in all the land
with turrets broad and towers tall
and cockleshells upon its walls.
But sadly then, the tide came in.
'Gainst time and tide no one can win
and as I watched on with dismay
it washed my castle all away.
'Gainst time and tide no one can win
and as I watched on with dismay
it washed my castle all away.
But then I thought I'll write a rhyme
about my castle so sublime
and with each word that I have writ
immortalize each grain of it.
about my castle so sublime
and with each word that I have writ
immortalize each grain of it.
No tide will wash my words away
nor will, with time, my words decay
so in a form that never fades
I'll keep that castle that I made.
nor will, with time, my words decay
so in a form that never fades
I'll keep that castle that I made.
