1.
The world’s biggest butterfly,
I saw flap across the sky,
its wings, with bright colours dyed,
were more than a mile wide.
It came from across the sea;
the world’s biggest bloom to see.
“That flowers my friend”, it said,
as it fluttered overhead.
Chorus:
Tra la – la la la;
it’s a beautiful day;
the sun is shining and I’m a happy girl.
Tra la – la la la;
I’m flying away
on the biggest butterfly in all the world
2.
And each time it flapped its wings,
they were such gigantic things
that they made a mighty breeze
which blew blossoms off the trees.
On its giant back I flew
across April skies of blue;
followed perfume with my nose
to where giant flowers grow.
Chorus:
Tra la – la la la;
it’s a beautiful day;
the sun is shining and I’m a happy girl.
Tra la – la la la;
I’m flying away
on the biggest butterfly in all the world.
