Rowing

Rowing…
We are rowing
Rolling on a bumpy wave
Slow and steady wins the race
Rowing on and rolling away
Echoes of the ocean
Clamours of the motion
Buzzing with wind in my ear
Shudders in the jaws
In freezing cold
Brushing in the morning air
Moving back and forward
Trying every effort
Grabbing up an inch in its way
Fizzing in the waters
Sprayed on skin
Fighting for leap in this way
Rowing…
We are rowing
Rolling on a bumpy wave
Slow and steady wins the race
Rowing on and rolling away
Sun is steeply rising
Splitting up the sky
Colours in the break of day
Turning to glow
In the morning light
Hurting my eyes in the ray
Stirring in the sea
And tough on tide
Rising in metres too high
It’s lively to be
On the rougher side
Making it harder to ride
Rowing…
We are rowing
Rolling on a bumpy wave
Slow and steady wins the race
Rowing on and rolling away
Rowing…
We’re still rowing
Rolling on a bumpy wave
Slow and steady wins the race
Rowing on and rolling away
