So my knee is swollen now which I was dreading. My GP recommended Ibu Gel (10) a couple days earlier. I caught up with my Doctor (mother friend) this morning and showed her my knee for a second opinion. she said I should continue using the gel and ice pack (hoping it is not artherites). No more pilates for me for the next couple of weeks!
Disappointed back home, I apply for twenty jobs in a frenzy. Husband is having his fifth interview of the day. Later on I am seeing a nurse friend in the park (god, I need a sob). She needs it even more, I suspect, she finished her shift at the hospital at midnight last night. Long chat with my doctor friend earlier on this morning, though I detect that she was a little bit of stand offish with me. I don't know why! My daughter though seems to get along better with her son- yesterday they played a game of monsters, coppers. My daughter was a green monster along with some other of her friends. This I don't tell my friend. Meanwhile my youngest sister is having her jab this week.
I make a mental note to do non-verbal reasoning with my son tomorrow evening (how to tell the odd shape away if all the shape are the same- the clue is that the shape which is reflection rather than rotation is always going to be the odd one out!)- He needs to sit for an all important secondary school test in September. We might have to rule out private schools for him- thanks to covid. No thanks to covid! I feel our worlds are topsy/turvy these days.
My doctor friend tells me that she has a whole month of annual leave to take. And she is cheerful about this. She is always cheerful. I don't know how she manages that. The doctors at the children's A & E were also really cheerful too when I had to take my son to get his headaches checked a couple months earlier if somehow defleted. Topsy/Turvey world.
My friend in Argentina tells me that she went to a restaraunt earlier on yesterday followed by a tango class. Topsy/Turvey world! I want to take my family to Argentina this winter but am afraid things might change there too over night. This I don't tell my friend. Topsy/Turvey world. Outside daffodiles are swaying to the wind- violets are creating a very prettty contrast to the sunny daffodils. My daughter calls our garden 'an old lady's garden'. This offends my husband but not me yet. Even though my knees are swollen and I can't do pilates.
