Children at school (at last! Yeah!) On school run, I wear a fur coat which appears to be a little ananochronistic or I shall call it optimistic. I grab a fellow parent and forcefully tell her about my daughter's GoFund Me page for Asthma UK (Abigail to Walk 150 miles). Ha ha. She looks startled at first. Then a little intrugued? Perhaps or perhaps not.
Back home: I polish my CV. Then a ping from my GP. I am excited, no make that elated! Is it my turn to have the vaccine? Astra Zenaca/ Pfizer, Moderna! The choices, the choices, the choices. My sister who is a couple of years younger had already her Pfizer vaccine and therefore she is feeling immortal. Filled with pride for conducting her public duty. When is it going to be my turn?
Hands steady: I check my message, no it is not my turn yet (two more weeks, me thinks) but I am eligible for a full check up. Hurray, my aching knees can now be seen by a health professional for deep heath is not a remedy. Not a remedy at all.
Husband is on the tenth skpe call already. It is 10:30am and the vashing up is pilling in the sink. Better get going. Perhaps try a little yoga as well to elaviate the pain on my knee before sending out my CVs and booking this all important appointment with my GP.
Oh yeah still a little bit grieved for my really fit and healthy cousin back home, Back in Turkey who died on boxing day of Covid related complications. At only 50. Days like this I do want to believe in higher order then my mind wonders to Meghan. The interview. What does the future hold for my own multi racial children?

Many condolences, Yasemin.
Many condolences, Yasemin. This virus is so cruel.
It is so dreadful that you even have to think about your children's future in those terms. We can only hope that our basket case of a country takes a long hard look at itself, stops telling itself comforting nonsense about how wonderful we are and accepts that there is so much work to be done.
In the meantime - enjoy the release from home schooling! Congratulations for having made it through that particular minefield!

I enjoyed reading this
I enjoyed reading this section of your diary, probably because it is so relevant to NOW, the present moment. This is a good record of our times during the pandemic, not just the virus, but the other news events which are occurring!
