Machinisation
"My rusty back comes with wise age!""
Declared the cog.
To the young man with a sponge
And a bucket of soap.
Its edges became sharper:
Ready to defend its identity.
What is a rusty cog: not useful to machines,
Unfunctioning, no longer useful to humanity?
Is it still a cog?
The young man unheard the cog.
Continued with his mission.
The cog changed colour:
It was no longer the colour of rust
But crimson.
"You will not take away my identity!"
It asserted,
Missing the irony.
The young man splashed
more soap
on the cog.
The cog shook the soap
Off its back,
Leaped into the young man's hand
Ripping through his palm,
"This is the price you pay!
For ignoring my plea!"
He said triumphantly.

Lovely bite in this tale.
Lovely bite in this tale. Sometimes the smallest things are what we need the most and forget the most.
