cycles of life

Birth
Enchantment; woman and moon,
a silver shawl shimmers,
electric life force zigzags sky
begetting treasured freedom
hidden fecund shock of
spring shaking loose
melody plays within,
father,man, son,
daughter,mother,crone.
One langourious cobra
With many serpent heads,
dancing descends from the womb.
New life is born
to a bossonova beat, a firework
festival of roses.
Youth
As a young woman I realised
Some flowers bloom only at night.
We are corks afloat in a rough sea
Life,life what do
You hold for me
You don’t seem to make
This life easy.
Fate seems to hold misery.
We run like young foals
Sabre tooth tigers
Roaring by sunset
That night we met
Under the old brass clock
To dance,discover and treasure
The burning flame of life,
Where chance chuckles
And we throw the dice
Holding out our painted palms
To catch thrown rice
Under blue, blue moon
We bow and pay our price.
Adulthood
A tidal wave of silence,
Hidden shrouded footsteps
Trembling hands that met
Slowed motion to make sense
Petals of a dark angel
Children of a drunken God
Give howl and a sob
Hearts break,stories to tell
Engulfed in a garden of serendipity
Peacocks of gold and green
Man and woman ask, can we be free
Sound of a strange animal
Wild,fecund and keen
How we shall progress, we cannot tell
Marriage (at Glastonbury)
Two whirlwinds united in love
Atop an emerald hill
Hands bound with colour ribbon,
Many magical moments
We toast rum and ginger
Sacred tribute
To God and Goddess
Elements called to witness.
Leap of the broomstick
Like solar powered stags
Times three I love thee
Soul celebration,new found
Friends fraternize like
Swirling swallows soaring
From the mystical mist.
Eternity
Star light,mercurial bright
In indigo firmament.
From which angels ascend in flight
Rainbow life spiralling
A lived in veld, age has arrived
Ancient visions, Elders
Lie like sleeping siameses
Still as stony pharaohs
Engrossed in eternal vortex
Drawing down the moon
Into the embers of a Red Dwarf
Seeds now grown and matured
Remain everlasting, elemental
Part of all eternity.
