Fireworks

The darkness left her eyes as she stared into the sunset from above the cliff face.

'Hey, you ready to go?'

'Yeah......um yeah. Sure.' She turned around and faced me.

'Come here!' I moved towards her and pulled her into my arms. 'I wanna take you somewhere. But you gotta trust me. You trust me yeah?'

She snuggled into me. 'Yes.'

'Okay, then lets go.' I put my arm around her and we headed back down the hill to my car.

She said nothing as we drove in silence to the spot I had chosen speciafically for her.

'Here we are.'

'Where are we?' She looked confused.

'Just wait a sec..' I repllied as I looked at my watch.

Then suddenly, perfect timing, fireworks lit up the sky. I grabbed her hand and moved her to make sure she knew where they were.

'You see that?

'Its blurry but yes! Yes! They're so colourful! The surgery worked!I cant believe this. Wait.....what does it say?' Her excitement made me smile.

'It says...I love you.'

She turned to me, looked me straight in the eyes and whispered, 'I love you too'. I pulled her into me once more and we both stared into the sky and watched our whole world light up.
