What it really means?

When we say I love you
Do we really mean it?
Or
Are just saying it?
Not to love
But
To deceive?

Can love have meaning
Unless reciprocated?
Can only be answered
By the lover
Or/and the loved

Could word be worthy
If it doesn't reflect reality?
Context is a decider
What we say
Can then be clearer

Expression of intent
Can reveal content

Word can've double meaning
Verbous
Elitist
Beyond the reach
Of ordinary being
Poor & not rich

Should be honoured
Not ignored

Was ignored
Slaves suffered
As a consequence
Slave owners
Continued
Reaping the benefits

Ignored their promises
Brought their demises

Could've prolonged their stay
Anyway
People didn't want them to stay
Glad were uprooted
Good riddance I/they say

Appearance is deceiving
Instead of word
Would picture
Reveal true meaning?

Whatever form
Word appears
Not the looks that matters
Usage and intent
Should be our concerns

Word, word everywhere
Reveal yourself

Don't be ephemeral
Be real

Covering up
Sexing up
Has exposed
Lying politicians
Resulted in illegal wars
Destroyed people's lives
Forced people to be refugees
Government doesn't feel guilty
Refusing entry to these exiles

Do we rely
On dictionary meaning
Or
What we want
Has to be the meaning?

Word persay is harmless
But its usage
Could be devastatingly useless
Positively advantageous
Or
Downright dangerous

People referred to
As of no consequence
( Offensive, I might add )
Can pretend importance
By sounding posh
Why act posh
If what follows is anguish
When ultimately exposed
As fraud

Words aligned
Like parallel lines
Don't meet in their journies
Result
Can't be reconciled

Unrealistic words
Can lead
To day dreaming
And
Wishful thinking

Flip side
Realistic words
Depending
Who the definer is
Can welcome you
To the world
Imagined
Expressed
And
Positively experienced

W - o - r - d
Should be accessible
Simple
Enabling
Overstanding
Poshness
And pretence
Are not rewarding
What is satisfying
Is
Simplicity
Clarity

Openess
