Great poem. I like the way it casually references the films, and this line is sublime: 'A woman in furs brings dessert.' Tarkovsky is a brilliant director, as well as a very talented defender for Burnley FC.
I think at least a little more detail about the circumstances that led to the break-up would be useful. Was it entirely impulsive? Did she or he do something terrible? I don't think it needs to be a big diversion from the story - indeed, I'm far...
I enjoyed this - such a strong sense of place. I'd like to find out more about the past (why did he split up with Sara?) and the future (does he end up working at the fairground or in the desert?)
The line length and subject matter remind me of Walt Whitman. And may I say I love the American use of 'fall' for autumn. Surely we should desribe spring as 'rise'?
