I loved the ending. Also interesting how people's notes in books can bring the past alive. I've just been reading 'The Bookseller's Tale', written by a chap who's been selling books for years, and from that I gather that what was once a common...

I love the homage to Lovecraft, and indeed Poe. And once again you have taken us to Glastonbury Tor and delivered all the atmosphere there. Like Jenny, I wanted more! You say it's a draft - have you got any plans for developing it further? I was...

Delightful! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Some marvellous (no pun intended) superhero and supervillain names and characters. Great piece of writing.

There's always so much meticulous research in these pieces, Jean. I didn't know anything about Newman's interest in music. You always provide an interesting starting point for further investigation by your reader!

Posted on Tue, 18 Jan 2022

Beautiful language. I too was particularly struck by the image of the stars scattering, so it's interesting what you say about wolves eating the stars. Also the last two lines, 'together there is a way through the forest' really evoked that image...

This really evoked a memory

Posted on Tue, 18 Jan 2022

This really evoked a memory in me, Jenny - I think I must have gone there as a child, even though I can't actually remember the occasion. Poetry does that for us - brings up memories and emotions that are normally lying just below the surface....
